Our Mission

VaultPilot helps consumers make informed financial decisions by providing independent, data-driven comparisons of financial products. We track savings accounts, CD rates, bank bonuses, and other financial products so you don't have to.

How We Research

Every comparison on VaultPilot is based on:

  • Verified rate data: We collect current APY, interest rates, and fees directly from financial institution websites and regulatory filings
  • Terms analysis: We review account terms, minimum balance requirements, monthly fees, and withdrawal restrictions
  • Regular updates: Rate data is reviewed and updated at least monthly. Articles carry the date of the most recent rate check.

Editorial Independence

VaultPilot maintains strict editorial independence:

  • Affiliate relationships do not influence our rankings, recommendations, or editorial content
  • We do not accept payment for positive reviews, placement in rankings, or specific mentions
  • Products are included based on objective criteria: rates, fees, features, and terms — not commission size
  • We may earn affiliate commissions on some products we recommend, but this never affects our evaluations

How Products Are Selected

Products featured in our comparisons are selected based on:

  1. Availability: Nationally available to most US consumers
  2. Competitive rates: Products offering rates at or above industry benchmarks (e.g., national average APY per FDIC data)
  3. Consumer protection: FDIC insurance (for deposit accounts) or SIPC coverage (for brokerage products)
  4. Transparent terms: Clear fee structures, no hidden conditions

Accuracy and Corrections

Update Cadence

Articles are reviewed and updated on the following schedule:

  • Rate articles ("Best X" comparisons): Updated within 7 business days of a Federal Reserve rate change or significant market shift, and at least monthly
  • Product reviews: Reviewed quarterly or when significant account changes are announced
  • Evergreen guides: Reviewed semi-annually

Each article displays the date it was last updated.
